Meditation is mind training that can be done by anyone. The exercises that make up meditation help you accomplish several goals. It promotes relaxation, mental clarity, and awareness of your surroundings.

Here are some meditation exercises to include in your daily routine:

·      Use mantras to put your worries to rest. Repeat the same word or phrase over and over again. Listen to the sound of the words vibrating in your throat. Choose a mantra that resonates with you. “I am,” is a good one because it can be followed with “strong, beautiful, smart, funny, etc.”

·      Eating mindfully. Meditation isn’t just sitting on a cushion for a certain length of time. It can be incorporated into everything you do from driving to walking to reading to eating. To eat mindfully, you must focus on your food and how it smells, looks, feels, and tastes. It gives you a great appreciation for how the food arrived at your table, too. Remember that it was grown, picked, processed, shipped, and sold to you.

Include meditation into your daily routine and experience the benefits it brings. Your mind, body, and soul benefits from deliberate practice. You’ll be better equipped to deal with stress and the unpleasant things life throws at you going forward.
